The Saint John Riptide have hired Tarale Murry as their full time lead assistant coach for the 2018-19 season. “Tarale is a tremendous addition to our staff. He has played a key leadership role at both the University of Texas and Texas A&M University and he, quite simply, makes any organization he is a part of better,” head coach Nelson Terroba said. “Tarale will be great with player development, scouting, and he will be a great mentor and advocate for all of our players.” Most recently, Murry served as a graduate assistant at Texas A&M University. He led student-athletes through individualized workout sessions outside of practice and games and worked behind the scenes as a liaison between players and coaching staff while helping with camp and other administrative roles. “I worked with players in all positions, serving different roles, who possessed unique learning styles, motivation, and work ethic habits. I learned more about the professional game and the skills/drill progressions that are most effective for developing excellence in fundamental aspects of the game,” Murry said about his time at Texas A&M. Before that, Murry was a walk-on at the University of Texas. While there, he played an integral role behind the scenes as the ultimate connector and teammate.
