SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Riptide struck first in their best-of-five first round series against the Island Storm to take a 1-0 series edge. Although it was a tight game wire to wire with both sides trading leads, the Riptide were able to hold off the Storm to take game one on home court.

First Round Playoff Dates Announced

SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Riptide playoffs will start at Harbour Station on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7PM as the Riptide host game one of their best-of-five first round series. The Riptide’s opponent has not yet been confirmed, however if the playoffs were to start today they would face the Island Storm.

Last time these two teams met Saint John had several players out with suspensions and the Lightning had some injuries, so this was marquee match-up around the league.

ST. CATHARINES, ON – The Saint John Riptide kicked off a five-game, 13 day road trip through the province of Ontario to visit all five central division teams. First on the docket was the Niagara River Lions on Sunday afternoon as newly signed big man Chris Commons was making his Riptide debut in this one against his former team.
