SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick — Brian Oliver, who played at Georgia tech and Seton Hall and most recently, in Austria, has signed with Saint John.
The 6-7- wing and small forward is a knockdown shooter who shot 42% from the 3 point line last year on 235 3 point shots. He averaged 10.6 ppg and 4.5 rebounds per game for Kapfenburg in Austria.
“Needless to say, Brian is an elite shooter. His size and shooting make him a great addition to our roster,” head coach Nelson Terroba said. “He is the kind of guy who can get his shot off quickly and is someone the other team has to account for at all times.”
Oliver is excited to be a part of the Riptide culture and community.
“I have decided to join Saint John because upon research into the program I can absolutely see the upward trend of the organization and with the record of last year I feel like we can do big things this upcoming season” Oliver said. From what I understand, Saint John is a very pleasant place to live and a great organization to be a part of.”
Oliver’s versatility in terms of being able to switch between the 3 and 4 and stretch the floor at all times make him a great fit for the Riptide.
“I’ve been in the gym constantly this summer just aiming to pick up from where I left off in Austria, taking care of myself mentally and physically has been key this summer,” Oliver said. “I’m coming in to win, and I’ll give everything I can possibly give to make sure that happens. I look forward to touching down in Saint John.”
