December 22, 2016 – Saint John, NB – “We are excited to announce another half performer for our fans. We are committed to providing a complete entertainment experience for our fans, and this is another positive step in that direction,” said Riptide CEO, Scott VanWart. The Riptide are scheduled to play the Cape Breton Highlanders on December 30th, 7:00PM at Harbour Station.
Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and raised in Longview, Texas and Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Melissa Hunt is establishing herself in Canada as an emerging country artist. She’s opened for Juno Award winner Melanie Doane, CCMA duo award nominee’s Twin Kennedy and number one hit artist Chris Cummings.
This past June Melissa released her debut single “Highway 83” and soon followed her current radio release “Smoke & Cinders” which both reached top 100 on our Canadian country music charts.
On Friday Dec 30th, Melissa will be in city to perform the halftime show during the Saint John Riptide basketball game at the Harbour Station.
“I’m really excited to be playing during the halftime show! I’ve been to many shows at the Harbour Station as a member of the audience and always hoped I would perform there someday”.
Building upon the momentum of “Highway 83” and “Smoke & Cinders” this East Coast girl is eager to share her debut EP album in 2017.
Melissa is living by her own words as she continues to gain ground in the Canadian Country Music Industry.
