SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Riptide announce the signing of Horace Wormely for the remainder of 2016-2017 NBL Canada season.
Nicknamed the Gingerbread Man – as in catch him if you can – Wormely is a 5’6″ native of Pasadena, California who played his college ball at Vanguard University. Professionally Horace has played in Japan, Germany, China and most recently Spain. Wormely also spent time with the Los Angles Defenders of the NBA Development League.
“Horace brings veteran leadership having played overseas and in the NBA D-League”, said coach Spon. “He will be one of the league’s fastest and quickest guards and when he runs pick-and-roll somebody is getting a layup, dunk or good look at a three”.
Horace is scheduled to arrive in Saint John on Thursday and will make his Harbour Station debut on Friday January 13 when the Riptide host the Cape Breton Highlanders. To make room on the roster, the Riptide release power forward Chris Early.
GAME RESCHEDULED: The Riptide’s January 8th game against the Island Storm that was postponed due to weather has been rescheduled for Friday, February 17th at 7:00 pm.
